When looking for a unique way to get a group together for an exciting, out-of-the-ordinary trip, chartering a river cruise could be the perfect opportunity. The intimate but spacious size of a river cruise allows your group to bond while they travel to some of the most beautiful sites. Chosen as the “Best New River Ships” by the Cruise Critics’ 2014 Editor Picks Awards, Emerald Waterways is a new, state-of-the-art cruise line ready to take you on your next great adventure.
This cruise line, a division of the Australian tour operator Scenic Tours, launched in 2014 with it’s two sister ships, the Emerald Star and the Emerald Sky. By the end of 2015, they will have added two new ships, the Emerald Sun and Emerald Dawn to complete their fleet of four nearly identical, 443-foot long, 182 passenger ships. They are currently offering 7- 14-night itineraries sailing along Europe’s Rhine, Main, Danube, and Mosel Rivers, visiting destinations such as Nuremberg, Budapest, Prague, and Amsterdam.
These brand new ships have been designed to bring comfort and an open, fresh feel. With modern interiors and innovative designs, this fleet takes style wherever it goes. It’s signature aft holds a heated indoor pool during the day, that transforms into a spacious cinema at night. State-of-the-art windows will transform cabin balconies into conservatories, so you can enjoy the outdoor scenery no matter what the weather is like. With plenty of natural light to make the rooms seem bigger, you’ll forget you’re on a ship.
Emerald Waterways aims to compete with established four-star brands like Viking Cruises and Avalon. Their main goal is to make river cruising more affordable and including everything you need in one cost. All onboard meals, onshore excursions (with the exception of more in-depth or unusual excursions), onboard bicycles to take with you on land for individual excursions, bottled water, wine, beer, and soft drinks with dinner, coffee and tea, wifi, visits to UNESCO sites, travel and transfers within Europe, all port fees, and even tips are included. While most meals are served in the main dining room, there is an optional alfresco dinning area that provides guests with a light, informal option for breakfast and lunch.
At each destination, there will be a local, knowledgable guide to take you on a tour of the city. Afterwards, exploring on your own or in a group allows you to experience each location exactly how you’d like: stroll through the cobblestone streets while window shopping; eat at a local cafe; experience the culture and life. Best of all, Emerald Waterways offers ships that are the perfect size for a charter! What better way to experience several destinations as a group without the stress of packing and unpacking and and coordinating travel in between each place?
