All hope is not lost if you were planning on hosting an event in Cabo in the future. The popular destination, which was hit hard by Hurricane Odile in September, is back in business. The Los Cabos Hotel Association reported that 15 hotels would be ready by this week, and that more are re-opening up very soon.
According to the association, public services are being restored in record time and business will be back to usual by the end of this year. Phone, power, and water services have already been restored, and U.S. flights are being welcomed starting October 8th. The number of flights will be increasing throughout the end of this month and the fall, and the regular flight schedule will be back by early December. In anticipation of all the tourists arriving this week, golf courses, restaurants, local attractions, and other activities will also be fully operational.
Hotels are also opening back up quickly as they focus their efforts on cleanup. There have been no reports of structural damages, which is good news, but according to Renato Mendonça, president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association, many hotels are taking this opportunity to bump up renovations and remodels that were previously planned for 2015. This means that not only will Los Cabos be restored as it opens its doors again, it will also be better than ever! Upcoming events are still on the schedule as well, including the Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, Sabor a Cabo, Bisbee’s Tournament, Los Cabos International Film Festival, and Los Cabos VIP Summit.
